Wholehearted Leadership builds upon the foundational framework of Wellness-Centred Leadership, as defined by the American Medical Association (AMA). While Wellness-Centred Leadership focuses on creating cultures that value wellbeing, Wholehearted Leadership goes one step further, placing the leader’s own wellbeing at the core of effective, sustainable leadership.

Founder & Director of Capstan Partners- a specialist coaching provider to doctors and healthcare leaders, Rita holds a Masters Applied Science (Coaching Psychology) Uni of Sydney and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation from the International Coach Federation (ICF) in 2020. She is an ICF PCC Assessor with over 2000 hours experience working with senior leaders, including clinical and non-clinical doctors and healthcare professionals. Over the past fifteen years Rita has successfully designed, led and delivered a range of behavioural science-based programs including group and individual coaching for leadership, professional development, performance improvement and career transition coaching programs, wellbeing & resilience training and coaching programs, and organisation and cultural alignment consulting programs.

General Practitioner, Registered Yoga & Meditation Teacher and accomplished group facilitator, Emily established Whole Hearted Medicine with the express goal of supporting the wellbeing of doctors & healthcare professionals. With significant experience in lifestyle medicine, mindfulness and holistic wellbeing, Emily has led Whole Hearted Medicine in pioneering the CPD accreditation of wellbeing education for doctors and continues to contribute to this area via her retreats as well as her academic position teaching medical students.

Associate Coach- Capstan Partners
Paediatric Emergency Physician and previous President of the Paediatric and Child Health Division of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Sarah has worked in different clinical and leadership roles across NSW over the last 25 years, from regional centres to specialist tertiary units and from community care to acute care retrieval services. Sarah completed a Fulbright Scholarship in Clinical Leadership and she has held executive leadership roles is several NSW Health entities.

Coaching is a key element of Wholehearted Leadership. It supports leaders in reflecting on their behaviours, mindsets, and emotional responses- fostering the self-awareness and self-regulation needed for meaningful change. In an environment where clinical and operational demands often leave little space for self-reflection, coaching offers a structured, supportive setting to pause, take perspective, and grow.
Through expert facilitation, leaders are guided to explore their behaviours, emotions, and mindsets, building the self-awareness needed to lead with clarity, compassion, and confidence. In a group setting, coaching harnesses the collective wisdom of peers, creating a rich, shared learning environment. In individual sessions, it provides personalised insight and support tailored to each leader’s context.
At our Wholehearted Leadership Retreats, coaching is woven throughout the experience both in group discussions and one-on-one sessions. Delivered in collaboration with Capstan Partners, this coaching element enhances the integration of new insights into real-world leadership practice.
